看了這個,你還敢不吃早餐?

現代社會生活節奏快,很多人都因爲趕上班而忽略早餐,但其實長期不吃早餐會令身體出現毛病,其中一種就是高血壓和中風。日本國立癌症中心與國立大阪大學合作的一項歷時長達十三年之研究發現,經常不吃早餐的人比起每天吃早餐的人,患腦出血的機會多出3.6倍,其原因在於空腹過久造成血壓上升,讓中風機率提高。

筆者一向以來都很鼓勵大家把早餐當作每天最重要的一餐,而且把它稱之爲“皇帝餐”,而早餐必須包含足夠和高質素的蛋白質。美國伊利諾州大學的營養學教授Donald Layman建議大家在吃早餐時,進食起碼30克的蛋白質。“四小時身體”(The 4-Hour Body)的作者Tim Ferriss更建議,在起身後30分鐘就要吃30克的蛋白質。

至於蛋白質和其他營養的來源,就要按照每個血型的需要。O型人士最好能吃些動物性蛋白,例如紅肉或魚,加上蔬菜,而碳水化合物就要盡量少吃。A型人士就最好吃些植物性蛋白,例如大豆製品(豆腐、豆漿之類),加上一些適合A型的堅果、穀物、蔬菜。B型就可以吃低脂乳類產品如乳酪、雞蛋,另外,燕麥也非常有益。至於AB型,豆腐或乳酪都是很好的選擇。另外,雞蛋是所有血型都可以吃的,不過份量各不同,能夠吃最多次雞蛋的是O型(每週5-7次),然後是B型(每週5次)、AB型(每週2-3次),最少的是A型(每週0-3次)。

每天進食上述理想的早餐,能為身體提供最佳的能量以及穩定整日的血糖指數。可是,對於繁忙的都市人,這可能是一種奢侈的“夢想”!

血型飲食法扭轉一個健康出現紅燈者的生命 Blood Type Diet Turns around Life of a Man Whose Health was Falling Apart

一位三十五歲職業舉重手的脊椎受傷了,開刀以後身體狀況日益衰退,後來她的太太找到血型飲食法,發現原來丈夫是A型,不能像以前練身時每天吃牛扒,於是精心為他炮製以素食爲主的三餐,從過去常吃肉、薯仔、牛奶、蛋糕等,改成常吃各類有益的素食和魚類。一年後,就扭轉了他的健康,雖然過程並不容易,要放棄很多以前習慣吃的食物,但他重獲新生,發覺所作的犧牲都是值得的。

以下是他講述自己一年來健康歷程的擇錄:

“一年之後,我減了65磅,有了腹肌,現在穿的是32號。我不需要餓肚子,晚上仍然享受著一些美味的宵夜,例如乳酪、葡萄乾和生燕麥。有時候,很想吃甜的,我就偶爾會吃一個雪酪。我一生中,第一次感到命運掌握在我手中!”

A 35-year-old weight lifter, Frank Bouc, saw that his health was falling apart after a lumbar surgery. His wife stumbled upon the Blood Type Diet and decided to cook for his and her blood types (A and O, respectively). Instead of steaks, he started to eat lots of vegetables. The result: The Blood Type Diet has transformed his life 180 degrees. The process was not easy, with lots of sacrifices, but to Frank, it was worth all the troubles. Here are some excerpts of his testimony after one year on the diet:

Excerpt: “A year later, I am down 65 pounds, I have a 6-pack and now wear a size 32. I don’t starve myself; I still enjoy a late night snack of yogurt, raisins and raw oats, and it’s pretty delicious. Every now and then, I splurge on sherbet for my sweet tooth to settle down. For once, I feel in control of my life and my destiny.”

“I have now learned that dieting works, but the type of diet selected is essential. Are we eating food that fuels us or kills us? Not all diets are created equal. Oats and yogurt are horrible for my wife, who is an O blood type, so she stays away from them. Her recommendations call for lean meats, sweet potatoes and green veggies, instead. Diet and rest are 90 percent of the battle, exercise is the remaining 10 percent. Take the time to study what works for you, and, honestly, Just get it done. This is my review on the Blood Type Diet. Below are before and after pictures of me, and I feel pretty great.”

醃製肉類致癌 並非新聞 It’s Not New News that Processed Meat is Carcinogenic

最近有媒體報導,世界衛生組織即將會把醃製肉類,包括漢堡扒、香腸及火腿等,列入致癌物質名單,與香煙及酒精齊名。其實這個結論沒有太大的新意,因爲彼得.戴德蒙醫生早已在他於1996年出版的《不同血型 不同飲食》中,提及醃和熏的肉類對健康的負面影響,並指出,由於A型人的胃酸特別少,所以這些肉類在A型人身上就特別容易引發癌症。

“如果A型人吃下加工或醃製食物,如波隆那香腸,亞硝酸鹽的負面衝擊就會被放大90倍,因爲A型人特別容易罹患胃癌並受亞硝酸鹽毒性的影響。”

另外,世衛也認為新鮮紅肉「有機會致癌」。其實這個結論不能一概而論,因爲戴德蒙醫生指出,O型人的胃酸非常充足,很容易便能消化新鮮紅肉,而草飼紅肉對O型的健康尤其有益。相反,對於胃酸很少的A型,以及胃酸少但比A型稍微多一點點的AB型,紅肉卻真是非常難於消化,經常吃的話會在體内累積毒素,因而增加患癌症的機會。

我們經常看到一些醫學報告,一般的結論都受到被研究者的個人體格和血型左右,但這些研究並沒有仔細把被研究者的類型劃分。就像所謂新鮮紅肉「有機會致癌」這個一刀切的結論,估計是因爲被研究者當中A型居多。O型的朋友,如能限制自己只吃較瘦的草飼紅肉(牛肉尤其有食療作用),其實不用過於擔憂。而A及AB型的朋友就要把紅肉戒掉了。紅肉之中,牛肉對於B型的朋友屬於中性,即是說沒有食療功效,但也沒有害處,草飼羊肉對B型就非常有益了。

至於醃製肉類,由於含有有害的亞硝酸鹽,無論甚麽血型,還是避之則吉。

According to a recent report by Mail Online, the World Health Organisation (WHO) is to list processed meat, including cured and smoked meat such as bacon, burgers and sausages, alongside other carcinogenic substances such as cigarettes, arsenic and asbestos.

In fact, this is no new “news,” as Dr. Peter D’Adamo already wrote in his 1996 New York Times Bestseller “Eat Right 4 Your Type” about the negative impact of cured and smoked meat on health. He also made a distinction that Type A individuals, who have a much lower level of stomach acid, have an especially high risk for cancer as a result of consuming processed meat, because: “The Indican Scale shows that a toxic food entering your system is magnified to 90 times the effect on someone for whom it is not toxic. For example, if a Type A eats a processed or cured food, such as bologna (salami), the nitrates are magnified 90 times in the negative impact they have because Type As are particularly susceptible to stomach cancer and the toxic effects of nitrites.”

The WHO ruling is said to have included fresh red meat in the “encyclopedia of carcinogens” and is likely to be ranked as only slightly less dangerous than the preserved products. This is actually a one-size-fits-all conclusion, because Type O individuals, who have a high level of stomach acid, are capable of digesting red meat very well, and grass-fed red meat even have medicinal value to Type Os, according to Dr. D’Adamo. So Type Os should not worry too much, as long as they stick to lean grass-fed red meat, especially beef. However, Type As, who have a very low level of stomach acid, as well as Type ABs, whose level of stomach acid is lower but slightly higher than their Type A counterparts, should avoid red meat at all costs. Their inability to digest red meat would cause the resulting toxins to accumulate in the body and increase their risk of cancer. As for Type Bs, beef is a Neutral food, which means that it is neither beneficial nor harmful. Grass-fed lamb meat, on the other hand, is highly beneficial for Type Bs.

Back to processed meat–Should it be avoided by all blood types? The answer is “yes” due to the toxic effects of nitrites.

“Ever since I was little, I had been having skin allergy. I have seen a lot of doctors but the best I could get was temporary relief. I thought it had to do with the type of skincare products I used. 喝咖啡可防止乳癌復發

瑞典一項最新的醫學研究發現,咖啡能夠幫助曾患乳癌的婦女,防止癌症復發。

這個研究在瑞典南部的隆德大學進行,500名曾接受泰莫西芬(Tamoxifen,一種乳癌標靶治療藥)療程的婦女之中,那些每天喝兩杯咖啡的人,比完全沒有喝咖啡的人,再次得到腫瘤的機會只有一半。研究總結,咖啡裏的咖啡因和其他物質,能夠減少癌細胞的分裂,同時促進它們的死亡。

那除了咖啡因之外,那些“其他物質”到底是甚麽呢?

美國自然療法醫生,彼得.戴德蒙解釋,這些能對抗癌細胞的物質叫做“側鏈糖苷酶” (side chain glycosidase enzymes),不過值得注意的是,以上這個現象只出現於A型的人身上,因爲乳癌中的抗原跟A型的血型抗原非常相似,而上述的咖啡“酶”,能有效地把A型婦女身上的乳癌抗原“吞噬”掉,所以能夠預防腫瘤再生。

茹素者比“食肉獸”健康?

過去有不少研究顯示素食能降低很多疾病的發病率,包括某些癌症、心臟病、糖尿病、高血壓以及肥胖。最近,美國一項大規模醫學研究更揭示,素食能大大減少某些癌症的風險,其中結腸直腸癌的發病率與對照組相比下降22%。另外,美國有一本書,叫做《中國研究》”The China Study”,作者Joseph Campbell在中國收集數據和案例後,總結吃素是預防癌症的最好方法。這本書幾年前非常暢銷,看了它的人,有不少都開始奉行素食。

可是,事實上,食素到底是否真的比較健康?去年,在奧地利有研究發現,素食者的健康質素比食肉者差,易有敏感症,罹患心臟病及癌症的風險亦增加五成。

爲何這些科學研究會有那麽大的出入?

筆者在不同的博客裏看過不少素食者的“自白”,身邊也有不少茹素朋友,他們都是因爲某些理想主義或宗教原因而放棄吃肉的。但是,有些表示在吃素一段日子後,身體終於吃不消,越來越虛弱,但因爲理念上的執著,所以不願意吃肉甚或吃魚。有些就開始問自己:到底爲了一些理念,值得放棄健康嗎?

另外,在美國有位麥可拉醫生(Dr. Joseph Mercola),寫過一篇文章,提出《中國研究》這本書的流弊。他指出,書的作者根本沒有看症的臨床經驗,收集的數據也非常片面,科研的基礎不夠紥實。他本身看過很多病人,發現有些素食者病入膏膚,有的還頻臨死亡的邊緣,後來得出一個結論,就是不同的人,身體有不同的需要,在美國,大約有三份之一的人會適合吃素,但其餘的就必需有動物性蛋白質,而在其他國家,這個比例可能會不一樣。

其實,《血型飲食法》的始創人彼得•戴德蒙自然療法醫生(Dr. Peter D’Adamo),其父親,詹姆斯.戴德蒙(Dr. James D’Adamo)自然療法醫生,自1957年執業以來,留意到衆多病人中,有些對素食和低脂飮食反應良好,但某些的情况就不見改善,有些甚至反應惡劣。最後,他得出的結論是,不同血型的人,都有屬於自己不同的健康之道。到了彼得•戴德蒙醫生進入自然療法醫學院進修時,便把這個假設,用科學實驗和研究方法來認證,最後把多年累積的臨床經驗和科研結果,集大成而推出《血型飲食法》。這個飲食法,提倡所有血型都要進食大量蔬菜和適量水果,但A型血的人士就要以某些豆類、堅果、魚和海產等作爲蛋白質的來源;O型則適合以肉類、魚類和雞蛋作爲主要蛋白質的來源;B型除了進食肉類和某些魚類,還可以加入乳類產品作爲蛋白質來源;而AB型吃的則是A型和B型的混合餐單。每種血型人士每天大約應該攝取的營養比例如下:

如此根據個人的遺傳特性而進食,很自然便會達到健康的效果,也不必去猜測到底自己是不是適合吃素了。

當然,因爲宗教原因而吃素的人士,他們的決定應該絕對受到尊敬的。但是,對於長期吃素、健康開始出現問題的朋友,或者他們沒有得到全面的資訊,所以做出對身體有害的決定,那可能是時候三思以下。筆者過去也非常信奉素食的理念,我本身是O型的,幾年前曾吃素半年(而且還是生食),結果貧血、胃酸倒流,痛苦不堪。後來得知《血型飲食法》後,開始吃紅肉,一星期内便把這兩種持續了半年的問題解决了。那時,我終於明白,吃紅肉對我來講是多麽重要。同時,我也看了一本叫做”The Yoga of Eating” (《食之瑜伽》)的書,明白了萬物循環再生的哲理,同時知道在吃肉的同時,如何做出較人道的選擇,那在對得起良心之餘,又能保持健康,真是一舉兩得。
